Azuñia Black 2 Years, Extra Aged Private Reserve Añejo Tequila
Azuñia’s private reserve añejo tequila, Azuñia Black, is an ultra-premium sipping tequila for the tequila connoisseur. Every barrel is filled and rested on-site at our family-owned-and-operated farm and distillery, Rancho Miravalle, where each bottle is numbered and signed by Azuñia’s Master Distiller, Salvador Rivera Cardona.
Nose: Strong freshly cut wood scent on the nose, followed by a slight vanilla note.
Palate: Sarsaparilla, plantain/banana notes, full-bodied, robust, long finish. Hints of caramel, cocoa nib, star anise, and white pepper finish.
Finish: Full bodied flavor of vanilla, caramel, cocoa, fruit, sarsaparilla and spices with a long finish.
Azuñia is a craft tequila with smooth authentic flavor in every sip. It Is the exclusive export of Agaveros Unidos de Amatitán and its Rancho Miravalle family estate. Using 100% Weber Blue Agave from dedicated fields of the Tequila Valley, we bottle in small batches using a consistent process to deliver field-to-bottle quality.
Every bottle of Azuñia Black, Special Reserve, Extra-Aged Añejo comes with a black leather coin “necklace,” an homage to the lore behind the legendary Hacienda Sandovales.
Mango, citrus, and pepper trees flourish on the land throughout the agave fields. These fruit and spice trees provide flavor and naturally add nutrients back into the soil.
Azuñia uses traditional clay hornos (ovens) to roast the piñas. Though there are quicker, more convenient ways to cook the agave, using hornos is more traditional.
